Spring is the transition season between Winter and Summer, during which we see days getting longer, temperatures warming and plants blossoming in time for Summer.
Spring, with its fresh, strong burst of colour, which include such as parrot green, lilac, peach and lemon yellow. Seasonal flowers of Spring include Tulips, Jonquils, Bluebells and Daffodils, personify Spring’s colours. Distinct yellow undertones symbolise the new growth that is visible everywhere in grass, trees and plants. Spring’s colours are as daring as the first crocus that pushes it’s way through the frost covered ground. Even the neutrals of Spring, like camel and champagne have a certain zest! Spring is a time of Bogor and growth and the colours of Spring reflect this.
I asked a number of people what comes to their mind when they think of Spring. Some of the answers included, flowers, hiking, Easter, pastel colours, warm weather and holidays. I asked people this question as I wanted to make sure I was using the right colours within each season for my shoots and I wanted to use props, so this helped to determine what sort of props I wanted to work with.
