Summer

Summer, the brightest time of the year, where days are longer, includes clear primary colours, such as true red, royal blue, emerald green, violet and magenta, all of which have subtle blue undertones.

Summer is a time when we are not inhibited by heavy clothing. Our houses are more open and they are filled with summer sunshine. Symbolically, the colours I relate to Summer are extroversive, open and outgoing in nature, just as we are in the Summer.

I asked a group of people, what they thought each season meant to them. Answers for Summer, Included less clothes, days at the beach, bright colours, butterflies and freshly picked fruit. Having listened to what everyone had to say, I was intrigued about using butterflies in my Summer shoot, combining that with bright colours. That’s what popped into my head straight away.
